Walk 55 completed; 42 fells to go
May 6, 2012
It’s hardly been the best spring in Britain’s history but the weather wasn’t bad yesterday (Saturday) as I bagged five more fells around the Martindale/Patterdale hinterland: Beda Fell, Angletarn Pikes, Rest Dodd, The Nab and Brock Crags, which collectively made up walk 55. Angle Tarn was the definite highlight.
As of today, then, I have bagged 172 of the 214 Wainwrights, thus have 42 to go. Memory Map is working again so I can confirm I have walked a total of 550.94 miles and ascended approximately 160,649 feet.
Next walk is a booked in one as in a fortnight’s time I have a weekend in Ambleside – will need a rest after my next walk in particular, as the plan is that I’ll be off up Scafell Pike, the highest fell in the Lakes (and in England).
