Misty March continues

The fence along the ridge

The fence along the ridge between Tarn Crag and Grey Crag. Without it, this really would be a very difficult walk in mist.

Walk 53 was done yesterday and saw me bag the two easternmost Wainwrights, Tarn Crag and Grey Crag. Unfortunately, the weather was once again disappointing, despite a good forecast – low cloud and grey skies. Still, I treated the walk as a physical challenge instead and was quite proud of myself for doing it in the time I did: I have now measured it properly on Memory-Map and it turned out to be the second-longest walk so far at 16.1 miles.

As of today, then, I have done 162 of the 214 Wainwrights, thus have 52 to go. I have walked a total of 529.03 miles and ascended approximately 153,257 feet.

Next walk in a month or so, mid-April, I hope.

Darling How plantation

Darling How plantation, between Graystones and Broom Fell.

1st March saw me out on some misty fells bagging summits 157-160 of this project: this means I am now, pretty much, three-quarters of the way through. Read all about it on the walk 52 page; though mist meant there were no really pleasing photos today for the first time in a while.

As of today, then, I have bagged 160 of the 214 Wainwrights, thus have 54 to go. I have walked approximately 512.93 miles and ascended a total of around 149,831 feet.
