I’ve finally finished my Walkers’ Guide, aimed to provide information to anyone wanting to walk the Lakes by public transport. There is a page of general information and then one about specific destinations in the Lakes. Plus I’ve added some information on weather, nature and – very useful this one – pubs.

Enjoy! If you find the information useful, tell others about it…

Crummock Water and sunbeams

I had one logistically difficult walk left – difficult because I had to do it before the necessary bus disappears for the winter in a couple of weeks time, and not much option as to when. I took a stab at it today and got rather wet and tired for my pains, but I have done it: walk 67 saw me bag the last two fells from Wainwright’s volume 7, The Western Fells – Mellbreak and Hen Comb – and thus leave myself only with peaks that can be bagged at any day of the year. Tough walk today though, a lot harder than I thought it would be.

As of today then, I have bagged 207 of the 214 Wainwright fells, thus have 7 to go. I have walked a total of 685.96 miles and ascended approximately 199,563 feet.
